Power Mode...I know this has been asked alot :/

I know this topic has been posted a lot on this forum and I apologize for it, but it has been bothering me to know if the power mode makes a big difference in accelerating. My power mode light comes on when I start it and shuts off right away without blinking, however it does not come on when I stomp on it. So the questions are, is my power mode malfunctioning? Is it worth fixing or is the performance about the same without it? If anyone could respond it would be great. Sorry for the repetition of this topic. :/

Try this. Before you stomp on it lift off the gas completely. Always worked for me.

yes, you don't actually gain power from it. It simply remaps the shift points, allowing you to pull to redline.

Try tightening up the throttle cable. It worked for me.

be careful doing that though, if not adjusted correctly, it can mess up your
idle.

thanks for all the replies. Earthworm, your advice did work, however when I do that my car doesn't even downshift, but it does shift later.

The throttle mod advice sounds good but I would rather not mess around with my car since it runs fine now.

Thanks
