Help - Just bought SVX
Hi,
I just bought a SVX and to get it home I would like to know how to rig it so that the fans stay on constantly. Right now they do not go on at all. The PO says that the relays are bad. So just to drive it from his driveway to mine, I would like to bypass the relays. I searched this forum but didnt find instructions. Thanks in advance, Tom |

Just run wires directly from the battery terminals to the fans. That's the quickest and easiest.

How "temporary" do you want it?? The cheesiest way is to unplug the connector for the fan and run two wires from the battery (an inline fuse would be a good idea) to two diagonals of the four choices on the fan side of the wiring harness. If the fan runs backwards (pushes air out the front of the car) reverse the polarity.
This is in no way a long term solution, but it is the quick and sure way to get your car home. Unless it is real hot you should be fine with one fan, just don't drive the transmission real hard and don't use the AC.

What is an even easier way is the way I did it. when I first bought my SVX, I had the exact same problem as you, and also had bad relays. Be warned, they are expensive little bastards. But just disconnect the engine temperature sensor, and then they will run all of the time.
