And even though, by the end of 1980 probably offered all three Zs, it was the 240Z that was produced and sold first.
I foresee that it will not have a huge success, because the market nowadays is booming towards larger vehicules rather than the case was in the mid 1970's to late 1980's

I don't think they expect to get that type of success. However, since so many people (at least in The States) complained about how expensive, with some Z fans wanting a smaller less bloated Z (different opinions). Nissan figured it would be in their best interest to redesign the Z, since the Japanese market seemed to be all for a new Z period and they figured one that shared more of the 240 features would sell better in America. But all in all they just wanted a new design since the 300ZX was not selling too well in the US and a new image always attracts attention.

they should work on the 200SX and the 350Z to meet each market's taste, or keep the 200SX as it is and provide the market with a new 240Z ?? good idea hein?

I didn't read the whole thread so I apologize if I copy someone but this thing looks like a Magnum but with a sedan body style.

Not too bad but not that great either.

Actually Nissan already has a two Z selling plan, the only is like you said one of them is not technically the Z. They of course have the 350Z to serve as the staple point or middle-class performance car and luxury, 260Z. Then they have the Skyline or Infiniti G35, which as of now, is pretty much based on the same platform, engine and all around design as the 350Z but its luxuries would mark it up to the status of the 280Z. Then you have the Silvia or 200SX that even though is not a Z, it still is a cheap best bang for your buck RWD sports car, which 240Z sold as. The only problem is they are not currently producing the Silvia. But there are rumors not to mention because of the logic behind what you said; they have to develop a new one.

Which is probably why he'll end up taking it to "Pimp my Ride" or FMF...

I know its off topic, but wouldn't it be great if there was a "unpimp my ride" where normal people get these ugly riced out cars and turn them back into nice cars? One example might be that green SVX that appears on Ebay every now and then with the ugly wing and whatnot.
