My car started by itself!?

At work last night, I was outside getting a pop, when I saw my light's were flashing, then my car started !

It scared the **** out of me. I went inside my work to see where my key's were, since you can start my car with a remote. No one had touched my key's at all. I was the only one at work at that moment.
I think it's pretty spooky, but now I'm wondering if it has something to do with the remote system it has.
I went to shut off my car, and to see if anyone was leaving the area. There was one guy in the whole parking lot. He was a ways from my car, but still maybe his alarm(If he even has one) triggered my car secerity system Or it has to do with the old secerity system that was manufactured with the car. It no longer works, since I have a new one.
