i read about a guy who had a two-engine Tiburon (yeah, Hyundai) in some rice magazine. he could put the front wheels in drive and the rear wheels in reverse to do a spectacular four wheel tire-shredding burnout. some people have too much time and money.

Oh, there's a *NEW* one!?!?!?

sorry, my bad. I'm getting old.

FYI- for anyone wondering, those were street-driven, street-legal vehicles on an OPEN PUBLIC ROAD !! (the only thing I consider close would be the Pony Express 100 or the Silver State Challenge. Salt flats and trailer queens don't count )

i just read the article again yesterday, and i STILL can't remember what its called - the 675 GTR or something like that. the top speed was 224.x mph. in the time it takes our SVX to get to 60mph, it would already be doing 120!
its really a cool read - the reviewer says he's driven all kinds of supercars, including the GT1, and none even come close to the feeling this car gives when accelerating. i need to hit Powerball big time!

I saw that article! Smoke everywhere....

Suzuki entered a twin-engine car in the Pikes Peak Hillclimb for a couple of years, and did very well. Don

Anyone got a picture of this Tiberon hoon???

The fastest road car on ice is the Bugatti EB110 - holds the record for that!

*no idea what possessed them to think, lets take our quad turbo v12 awd hoon-mobile and drive flat out on ice*

On that note, Don, I read an article in the Wash. Post on Tuesday about a guy in California who (I kid you not) collects buses. You know, like a lot of your neighbors do there in West Virginny? (OK - I'm ashamed of myself - a little). Did you know (or care) that Raymond Loewy designed the '50s Greyhound Scenicruiser and that it had twin engines? How it performed on Pikes Peak is a mystery, but I can close my eyes & imagine a cool run in the sunset down Rt 66.
Who needs a 747?

Nostalgin' again - Ron.

Sport Compact Car is not a RICE magazine. Those guys are hardcore, and VERY into performance, NOT apperance. Don't call them rice. Superstreet, Honda tuning, import tuner, etc THOSE are rice magazines.

i never called SCC rice directly - i couldn't remember what magazine that article was in (if you read my post). but....while SCC is the better of those magazines (and i have a few issues here on my bookshelf), i've seen far too many "fart-bomb muffler comparisons for your Honda/Toyota/Neon/Cavalier" articles in there. so i think it IS ricey.
sorry if you don't agree with my opinion, but don't try and tell me what to call who. this is an example of why people get mad at you sometimes. you'd be less likely to provoke people if you had said: "i disagree about SCC being ricey, because...."

But they aren't rice. I haven't seen any fart tip comparisons. They do have product lines for certain cars, like product guides for your cavalier, which advertises a lot of ricey crap, but their technical articles are top notch. They're my 2nd fav car mag under grassroots motorsports.
