SVX alloy wheels

Anyone know where I can get a set of replacement alloys for a 94 model UK car or recommend alternative wheels? Mine are scabby and need painting but may take the chance to swap these off

Sets come up occasionally on ebay, probably more often than on here.

You will find it is easier to true up the wheels and respray them, than to change to different wheels.

This is because you need to buy wheels with an offset of 40mm or more to suit, and these are rare with our bolt pattern.

Also, the wheels used on our car are unique and expensive.

They are "handed", the left and right wheels being different to optimise brake cooling.

You will also find that they are lighter than 80% of comparable wheels that you can buy. Only ultra-light [and brittle!] racing rims are lighter than our rims. This can mean that the new rims you buy could be a pound or two heavier per corner, with resultant poorer damping and brake control.

If you totally don't like the OEM rims, and want a change of style, a lot of people in the States have used >92 my RX 7 rims on SVXs. They are light, look good, and are the same fitment. All you have to do is find a set.

I HAD A SET OF MILLE MIGLIA EVO'S ON MINE WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND IT LOOKED GOOD, BUT SOLD THESE ON TO A FELLOW MEMBER AS I PREFERED THE ORIGINALS. YOU CAN GET A SET FOR APROX £700 INC TYRES, BUT YOU CAN REFURB YOU OEM WHEELS FOR UNDER £200 AND BEEN HANDED ARE UNIQUE TO THE CAR

No problem, David.

You are very welcome to the Forum. Look in on the sticky at the top, you might like to come to the JAE and meet everybody in July.

Tell us more about your car then.
