ebay SVX

Wondering if there is anyone near Plainfield Ill. to look at ebaymotors item Z220413719389. Looks to be a decent car with documentation, just hard to tell from pics what condition the car really is in.
TIA
Jim

The buy it now price seems a bit high to me, but it does appear to be in really good shape.

Re: ebay SVX

Where in Iowa are you, teal one? I'm just south of iowa city. If you want to go look at it, or if you decide to purchase it I'd gladly go along with you.

Roadtrip!!

Re: ebay SVX

I'm over by Ft.Dodge. If I could get away from work I'd go check it out. My 92 I bought without checking it out first-what a mistake!!!
Yea, with the miles on it I thought the buy it now was a little high. Have to see what happens. I'm debating whether to put more money in the one I've got now,or replace it with one that needs less work. I work on cars all day all week and I'm having a hard time working on my own stuff on my time off. I've done it for a lot of years-maybe I'm burned out.
Hey-we used to race against a guy from Kalona-Mike Niffenegger. Don't know if he's even around anymore. He was bad fast in a dirt late model.

WOW! Another one from this area!! I was originally from Davenport-those names bring back memories! Osky had its share of excitement! Only there a couple of times as a spectator but they had some great racing!!

Probably never heard of me.I bought my first stock car from a guy named Kenny Arthur from Davenport and helped him a bit while trying to learn to drive one myself. He had a Plymouth Roadrunner #98. After figuring out that I was better working on 'em than driving 'em, I worked with a few more guys before the family thing came around. We made trips to Maquoketa, Columbus Junction, Cedar Rapids, Tipton, West Liberty, a few more, but were never the top guys.
Yea, Mel Morris, Pokey West, Darrel Dake, the good 'ol days!!

Re: ebay SVX

I grew up in Washington, Pokey West country. Friends and I made at least a race a week for a few summers. Often still go when I'm back. Not the same though.

I think I would say I was part of the anybody but Ed (Sanger) crowd. Tony Stewart was in my high school class, though he ran a bit later than some of the others I think.

Re: ebay SVX

Tony was getting pretty good. He and his dad built some pretty good chassis. At Davenport one night he and Billy Moyer tangled messing up Tonys thumb pretty bad-that was around the time I moved away from that area.
How about Ron Perdock or Kenny Finn?

Ron died in a small plane crash way back when, no idea what happened to Kenny.
