I had the Garage door malfunction and come down on the roof and rear spoiler of my Yellow 5-Speed Friday.....

Got some new summer tires installed for next year. The car doesn't get driven in wet weather and stays in the garage. I may have just broken them in by the time summer rolls around.

Of course the installer put the wheels on backwards but after that was fixed all was well.

On the 2nd SVX that I bring home yesterday.

Replace the timing belt and align the timing. She runs now.
Time to get some parts to make her completed.

I just told a mechanic that yes, actually I am unreasonable enough that if I need to I will pay to replace the engine

Finished installing the shorter shifter. Kind of a pain as a lot of the pedigree for the car manual conversion have been lost along the owner trail. Getting things removed I promised to do before repaint. Removed modified door sills, rear quarter garnishes, door cards and such.

Can't wait to see the repaint. Don't understand pedigree. Short shifter. ( like or don't like ).

"Kind of a pain as a lot of the pedigree for the car manual conversion have been lost along the owner trail"

Meaning we aren't sure who did the 5sp swap or exactly what they did/what parts were used. The transmission code says WRX early 02 but other than that who knows the details.

ps Love the short shifter. Tight and snappy. In the spring may do polyurethane under car shifter bushings also.

I got thinking about the short shifter after seeing yours. The mod lowered the top of the shifter about 1 1/2". Better looking , better feel for shifting Happy Camper!

Could be worse.

I was involved in a hit and run on Friday night/Early saturday morning. Luckily the only damage was to my door and to the wheel arch behind the door. I have a spare color matched door, but am using the arch damage as an excuse to move up my plans for flares and 315 tires for next seasons autocross/track.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Took my 92' in to Smart Service on the 5th for an oil change and 180k check.
Ended up having head gaskets replaced. Also, both knock sensors were so brittle, the connector ends fell apart.
Got my car back on the 12th. 3400 bucks later

Ouch Andrew P.! However, it is great to see someone who cares about his SVX.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Stuck one of my other mafs in and cleaned the connections a little, car seems to be running much better.

Also took down my droopy visors and slowly eroding rear view mirror and put in a 5 panel wink mirror.
