Location of the SVX: Sacramento, CA
Year: 1992 Model: LS-L VIN: JF1CX3531NH101723 Manufacture date: 6/91 Paint Color: Ebony pearl Interior Color: Black Miles: 134,000 Location: Sacramento, CA Options: All factory options AWD or FWD: AWD Modifications: Acura TL wheels Major service: Yes, 7/2014, about 1K miles ago Engine Condition: Good Maintenance Records: Since new, see full description below Transmission condition: Good Glass condition: Small chip on windshield about 1/4 way up at the midline, everything else nice, rear tint Type of tire and remaining tread: Bridgestone Potenza RE760 235/34R17, new in 8/2014, less than 1K miles ago Type of wheels: Acura TL Interior condition: Very good, driver's side bolster and top of steering wheel worn, rear almost perfect Body condition: Very good, typical wear for a 22-year old car, no history of collisions Known defects or problems: Sunroof needs a little help closing, otherwise, nothing major at this time Comments about the car: Very well maintained example. Three meticulous owners, all service records from October 1991 to present. Always a California car (purchased new from Maita Subaru in Sacramento). Clear Carfax, clear title, no history of collisions, always garaged, never failed smog, A/C is cold. Except for the wheels, this car is all original. Good examples of this car are becoming fewer. Here is one that is fully serviced and ready to enjoy. Also comes with the original VHS owner’s video from the dealer, original owner’s pouch/pen, Road & Track’s special issue devoted to the SVX and the full service manual set on CD. The first owner was a retired gentleman who owned the car for 12 years. He kept impeccable records from the beginning. It was dealer maintained under his ownership, with a total of 28 documented oil changes in 87K miles (average 3116 miles per change). Other significant service highlights during his ownership include: 3500 mile service 12/91 7500 mile service 5/92 15K service in 8/93 30K service in 4/94 60K service in 2/98 Transmission filter and cooler hoses at 21,961 miles Transmission rebuild at 52,634 Power steering pump at 55,927 Right rear wheel bearing at 68,781 Left rear wheel bearing at 69,052 Left valve cover gasket at 76717 All hood struts at 80,593 All suspension struts at 80,593 The second owner was also an enthusiast who kept great records. He chose to have the car serviced by the same dealership during his ownership. Significant service highlights during this time include: Front engine seals at 89,552 Water pump at 89,877 Power steering hoses at 89,877 Alternator at 99,581 Rear wheel bearings at 116,202 New radiator (unknown mileage) The second owner performed his own oil changes as well as the new radiator installation (unfortunately, there are no invoices for these). These are the only gaps in service records, but I have no doubts that they were done. I’ve owned the car since April 2014 and chose to have a local Subaru specialist take over maintenance duties. I found this shop through a friend who has had his SVX serviced there for close to 10 years. The shop owner used to own an SVX with a 5-speed conversion, and the tech whom I always request is a former SVX owner as well. Recent service during my ownership in the last year/1K miles include: 120K major service completed in April 2014 (all accessory belts, differential oil, water pump, thermostat, coolant flush, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, timing belt idlers, camshaft oil seal) New timing belt covers and seals (left, center and right) in July 2014 Spark plugs in June 2014 Mobil 1 synthetic and filter in July 2014 New slotted rotors and ceramic pads on all four corners in August 2014 Complete DOT4 brake fluid flush in August 2014 New wheels (factory Acura TL in perfect condition, with hubcentric rings and correct ball seat lug nuts) in August 2014 New tires (Bridgestone Potenza RE760 235/34R17) in August 2014 Power steering reservoir o-ring in September 2014 The paint is not faded anywhere, just shows the signs of a 22-year old car. Likewise, the interior is not faded, the heaviest wear being the driver’s side bolster and the very top of the steering wheel. The sunroof needs a little assistance when closing. The windshield has a small chip at the midline, about ¼ of the way up. Overall, the car itself is beautiful. On top of that, the documentation that is original to it is irreplaceable. My reason for selling it is that I have a long list of cars that I have always wanted to own, this being one of them. Unfortunately, I cannot own more than one fun car at once because I’m not willing to park it outside. I have owned five high-performance coupes in the last ten years and am ready to own the next one. I’ll definitely miss seeing this one in the garage, and I will only sell this to someone who will continue to maintain and preserve it properly, the way it has been since new. Serious inquiries only please. This is not a distress sale. If you have any further questions I am happy to answer them. I’m also open to trades (up or down), so let me know what you have. It might just be on my list, or if it isn’t, I could add it! E-mail me your number and I'll call you. Asking price: $7000 Pictures: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4879461387.html Last edited by ctnbop; 02-07-2015 at 11:40 PM. |
