Windshield Gasket?
I have a windshield without the rubber surronding. I ordered the "air dam rubber" from subaru and turns out it goes on the inside of the windshield. Wish the picture was a bit more clear. $40 for some foam rubber strip what the heck are they thinking?
Has anyone found a solution or replacment aftermarket gasket for the windshield?

I don't know of one, but I am checking with a guy that has the windshields and will see if he has some or some ideas.

Diamond glass replaced mine without the gasket. They used some type of sealer. Doesn't look bad, it came with a lifetime warranty. I can live with it.

This brings up a subject that I learned the hard way on my sons car if the windshield has been replaced. The winshield has to be cut out. An electric knife is used to cut the seal between the window and the metal frame of the car. Now when the seal is cut it is also possible to scratch and remove paint from the frame. This exposed metal will rust if it is not fixed properly. Glass installers are supposed to paint the metal before installing the window. He has a 97 Impreza and the frame is rusting out around the window.
