ECU reset when battery disconnected?

Does anyone know if the ECU memory is reset when the battery is disconnected? I'm kinda curious because I've read that the SVX ECU is somewhat of a self-programming unit.

Significant Technical Input
The ECU will reset to factory defaults when the battery is disconnected for more than few minutes. The car will basically run in an 'untuned' condition until the computer has enough input to relearn its new operating parameters. This can take up to several days to complete. If you don't have any special reason to do so (and it's very peculiar to have a fault that requires resetting) I wouldn't recommend it as there is nothing to gain. It won't hurt anything, it's just like a 'stupid pet trick' for those that tinker.

Hi Beav. I was wondering because I disconnected the battery when I changed the spark plugs, and I was curious about any changes in vehicle performance as a result of changing the spark plugs. Guess I won't really be able to tell because the ECU is no longer at the same state as before the plugs were changed. Thanks!
