ordering new headset for my EG33 have questions

So I'm finding that they changed something midyear in 93 with the head gasket sets for the EG33. Wondering if its updated parts or if something in the block/castings where changed from the late 91-92's? I have #689 so from what I'm researching I need the older style headset.

Can anyone confirm the differences between the two sets? I dont want to end up with the wrong spark plug valley seals like what happened with the EJ25D in 96 and 97 (changed design so you had to go buy extra seals)

I'm up in the north so I everything takes longer and costs more to ship here so I'd rather get it right the first time.

Check the parts diagrams and see whether the part numbers changed. And someone may be able to tell from the part numbers, whether, if they are different, the new one supercedes the old one.

Re: ordering new headset for my EG33 have questions

thanks! Thats exactly what I've been looking for. I figure if I'm gonna reseal this engine, its getting all Subaru parts. Gonna cost me 2 and a half legs, but I love this engine and the power it makes. half tempted to S/C it for ice racing, but then it'd just mean I'd have to brake sooner LOL
