You wax your car in december? Ummm, sshhyeah!

Well, I got off work tonight and decided that there was no time like the present to help protect my car in the winter! So what did I do? I did something about it.

Car started out dirty-ish. Not horrible, but hadn't seen wax in about 4 months, so it'd seen better days.
Here what it looked like when I pulled it in. It had been drizzling, so the car was a bit wet.

Washed it.

Dried it.

Then started cleaning it up!

Here's a before/after shot of the hood.

And a gratuitous motor shot!! (because who DOESN'T like that!?)

Then a few more shots of everything all done.

Then I made a short video just because I felt like it. And by no means are the things I list a comprehensive mod list. Just saying things that came to mine. hahah And I know it's no beauty queen, but it's what I've got, and I'll do my best to keep it in as good of shape as I can!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQmMCGNOI7o

So all in all, I would say I had a productive night!

Looks good! I'd like to do the same to mine in the next couple days. I'm not sure how much different the weather is where you are, but it's kinda nice not having so much snow on the ground for late december.

Nicely done. I'm trying everything in my power to let my paint go, because I hate the crap paint job that's on it now.

Its supposed to be 70f today but I am too lazy to bother washing my SVX. I'd rather hit the local MX track with my KTM!

Ebony is a nice color, but I refer to it as magnetic black. It seems that you need to wash it again right after you washed it because it is dirty again.

Here's a tip. Hand wash it and use Dawn dish soap, then when you're done, spray it off with some saltwater. Set it in the sun for a few hours, and in no time your car will look 40 years old. haha

And yes, our weather's not too bad over here, Tivo. About 35 degrees today, and snow is melting. Doesn't bother me one bit.

And Earl, I hear you there. But all of my cars are black, so what do you do?

Your svx still has a nice deep shine to it

I have to wash the z4 weekly, but I really love the way black cars look.

Re: You wax your car in december? Ummm, sshhyeah!

Oooh baby. That looks goooooooood.

A coworker just rode in my car today for the first time in months and actually asked me "what happened, your car used to be so clean?" I think dog ownership has really taken it's toll on the ol' Bandit. That, plus rain every-other-day this month has meant no car washes lately. You've inspired me though, hopefully next week I can pencil in some SVX time. Nice job.

Re: You wax your car in december? Ummm, sshhyeah!

Well, it appears as though I've done my public service for the ...decade? haha

And I never regret cleaning up a car, makes me feel good everytime.

On a sidenote, I know that my stock rims are not in the best of shape. I am planning on having them redone next year via powdercoating.

But next summer, I'm thinking of getting a set of rx8 wheels and having them done in black. I think that would look sweeeeeeeet. And evil. But mainly sweeeeeeet. But also slightly evil.

Re: You wax your car in december? Ummm, sshhyeah!

There are two types of RX8 wheels that I like, the 5 spoke and the ones that look a lot like the BBS CH's. Both would look great on a SVX. Good taste dude!

Re: You wax your car in december? Ummm, sshhyeah!

Thanks. I'm thinking of this one.

I think a black set of these on my car would look dead sexy.
