Bugatti - Veyron Sighted in N. Virginia

I never thought I would see one, but while doing pick-ups for the Habitat ReStore today I observed, for the first time, a Bugatti - Veyron. BEAUTIFUL CAR!!! But that's not the half of it. I saw the car making a left turn off of Route 7 going into Leesburg, VA. About an hour later, my son calls me on the cell and says, "Guess what just blew my doors off? I doing about 70 MPH on Route 7, glanced in my rear-view mirror and saw nothing. A second or so later, in the rear-view mirror I saw headlights. A second after that, a Bugatti-Veyron blew by me like I was sitting still in the ditch!!" This is on a four-lane road in a populated area with side roads, etc. VERY foolish driver, to say the least. But What a CAR!!! Check out the BBC's Top Gear show's test drive of the car at the following link. Absolutely amazing!!!

And I was happy I got to see a Daimer Dart SP250 driving the other day. I guess Bugatti owners are afraid of our potholes

My brother was in London, England at the start of the Gumball 3000 rally. He has a picture of himself standing about 6" from a Veyron. And an Enzo. And more Lambo's than I care to count. Bastard.

Re: Bugatti - Veyron Sighted in N. Virginia

I saw a Rolls-Royce Corniche the other day in Corvallis, and on Monday on my way to the airport I saw a SLK 65 AMG *DROOL*

I'd rather have a Koenigsegg: Faster than a Veyron and about half the price :P

I believe Top Gear and others bill the Veyron as the fastest "production" car in the world - at 255 MPH top speed ...

BTW, I think my favorate Mercedes AMG is the C 63 - what a car!! Check out this shot of one at Summit Point Raceway http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/d...ummit08262.jpg

Go back into the album to even get a video of the car at speed - oh that exhaust note!!! At http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/d...ummit08129.flv

Re: Bugatti - Veyron Sighted in N. Virginia

Just a general thought. Many of the people who purchase supercars do so with the idea that the money they have just spent (or borrowed) provides them with a car that can do no wrong. The problem is that it is just the opposite. The easier it is to drive one of those cars at speed, the more careful or better driver you have to be in order not to screw up. Just look at the website WreckedExotics.com to see multiple examples of sufficient money to buy the car not bringing sufficient ability to drive it.
The other side of the coin is that those cars can get up to scary-fast speeds so easily and quickly that the driver is occasionally not aware of how fast he or she is traveling. From what I've seen on that website, however, dumbass driving compounded by alcohol is often the problem.

Re: Bugatti - Veyron Sighted in N. Virginia

That is one of the most disturbing attrocities I've seen in a while.
