Sometimes the lock motor stop halfway in between locked and unlocked. Then the key won't turn and the button won't move. Does this sound like the problem you are having?

If so then you need to take off the inside door panel, remove the lock mechanism, open the motor unit and examine it to see what's wrong. On my car the problem is usually caused by water getting inside the motor unit.

Two screws in the door pocket, two at the front, and one under a little plastic hatch under the handle. Remove all, pull the bottom of the door panel outward, and once all the clips are popped loose lift the panel straight up.

Rise from your grave!

OK, this thread wasn't that dead, but still.

I'm having the same problem. What should I look for when I take the door panel off?

Had this issue since New Year's Day and just got it fixed, hence I'm replying to old threads

You take off the transparent cover from the affected part of the door, then unscrew 3 screws holding the lock and one bolt keeping the actuator in place. Unlatch all rods, disconnect 3 connectors (or 4, if beeper makes it harder). Pull out the package, remove tiny screws, open the blackbox and try to rotate the gearing inside to allow the bolt move freely. Also check the tiny gold connector - this part is responsible for sending the power locking signal.
If it's alright when you connect actuator, then bolt should move, actuator will help you move it and also the passenger door should lock/unlock.
Reassemble. Enjoy.

Re: Cant lock my doors. Help

Thanks for the write-up.

It would be nice to have this in the "How To's". Could one of the moderators do that?
