What have you done with your summer??

So far, I have been bustin' butt on all kinds of stuff!
I still have not re-sprayed the street rod. I am letting it sit until I'm sure it will work out. I have been down to the farm getting the next 2 rod projects set up. Scrap has hit $12. per hundred! I had crushed 500 cars at $1.00 per over the last 10 years, so I have been thinning the herd. (I wish I still had that pile of 65 cars laying in my way!)
Dan and I worked out our 'issues' for the most part, so we worked together for the first time since last fall. We spent sat and sunday picking parts off of stuff for the crusher.
OT still gets to do my Subi-work!
I will be finishing the spray booth construction that got shut down when the eye thing happened.
I had already bought everything. It has been stored here since last september!
It will be a seperate building and a dedicated building that is used for paint only!
I hauled a compressor down tonight to replace the old one that died since I was there last year.

My Mom is getting ready for her 89th birthday! She has been pushing for a 'yard sale' to shed all the stuff she accumulated raising 7 kids and 37 grand kids and 12 great grand kids. This is the weekend!
I have filled the GMC to the roof with the first load and will be loading the second as soon as I off load into my tent.

After I get this yard sale overwith, I will be back into the cars.

The farm looks like a golf course with cars parked on the edges!
Dan has kept the grass trimmed to perfection. None of my cars have been moved, let alone removed! So the LIARS had their fun!

The only issues that still set in my mind are the shoddy work on MY car and the short list of things that I wanted done that was NOT touched.

There are over 150 pics in the camera to be downloaded.

The family and I have cut, hauled, split and stacked 64 trees.
I used 2 cords last year, but have 3 1/2 cords stacked so far! All propane tanks are full and there are another 6 trees in my near future!
When I get a call on a tree, I have to find a family member with some room before I call back!
We recently got 25 trees from a 'Ham Radio' club that had a tower knocked down by a tree falling on a guy wire. They told us to cut any tree that could touch the tower or guy wires. we showed up with 6 trucks and 2 trailers!
7 hours later, we were dumping trees into the driveways!

I have started piling wood in the driveway. I will be closing in the carport with wood as soon as the grapes are done. (The car port started out as a grape arbor) I should be able to stack 2 cords around the edges an d still have room to work on the car parked in it.

WARNING!! OIl and GAS are going to KILL your budjet this winter! Get a woodburner and start hauling wood before it catches up with the oil and gas!
As it is right now, people will PAY me to cut a tree and haul it away. Soon, I might have to BUY the standing tree!

How has your summer been??

Re: What have you done with your summer??

Picked up my SVX in May
Went to a free concert at Indiana Live
Took my daughter to see Wall-E the other day...

Aside from that, sleep a whole hell of a lot and working 12 hours a day.

I've yet to take her (daughter) fishing/camping and do anything SUPER productive this year really... (business, money moving, etc) I guess making headway/progress in my personal life but that's going slowly, unlike this summer... which is zipping by.

This fall will be amazing though, I hope. Favorite time of the year....
