Pleiades is a star cluster. Alcyone is a star.

http://www.ras.ucalgary.ca/~gibson/p...ades_myth.html

My favorite story about this subject, stemmed from dinner at a small Restaurant near Snowshoe Lodge in West Virginia.

During Snowshoe I, we were looking for a place for us six SVXers to have dinner. Down the road from the lodge was a little "mom and pop" restaurant called "The Seven Sisters." We had a delightful dinner, and butterscotch pie for dessert. After dinner, we asked the waitress (one of the owners) how the restaurant got its name. She explained that she and her six sisters had partnered in the business venture. She knew nothing about the Pleiades, nor its significance to our beloved automobiles. The irony: She drove a Subaru.

So was the SVX the only car sold under the Alcyone (name/title) or was it morea replacement for seling the car under Fuji heavy industries, since that is no fun to say. I know there is a subaru name in japan now, but was there then?

Alcyone (star in Taurus, brightest of the Pleiades)

i think this varifies what you were thinking. The only thing is how in depth is this. PS, this translater even game me the Japenese symbol(S) for it

Italian, alcyone, pronunciation and crepes

Warning - a foreign language follows..........

Allora.......
