Got Snow??

We have 10.5 inches at 11 am sat. This is our 4th winter 'event' in 2 weeks and we don't even have winter yet!

still snowing here. I am just about up to 5 inches last I looked and more was comming and the wind was kicking up. Snowblower started with a little coaxing and all the subarus and toyotas are sleeping comfortable in their beds.

I might have to get the baja out and go terrorize the streets of Akron today

12in now. Took the Outback out back and Suba-rooster-tailed the alley open.

Snowing like crazy here. I took the SVX to the grocery store, roads were bad, unplowed and my all seasons didn't make me feel like I had much grip. Hopefully they clean up the roads tonight, I plan on leaving for the ski slopes first thing in the morning.

You have a snow blower where you live? You must use that like, what, once every 5 years?

Not really

We were supposed to get a huge blizzard that the whole midwest got a couple weeks ago but instead, stupid Lake Michigan kept us warm so we got over an inch of rain and then about and inch and a half of slush with 3 inches of snow on top... I wanted the 15" they got just 10 miles to the west.

It was supposed to snow here this time last week, it had been sub-freezing all week (which is odd for here) and then the big storm that dumped on California decided to hang out in California instead of coming up here, then it decided to warm up and rain and then freeze again, so all we got was stupid ice. Ping-ponged my Dodge off a few curbs, that was it. Didn't venture the SVX out, Jessica's turbo Legacy did OK until we tried to climb the hill to our house, her AWD doesn't work (previous owner drove it with 4 different size tires on it, transfer clutches are completely hosed). I drove the truck cuz I figured I'd rather have some asshat slide their Honda into the truck than into the SVX

it did fine until I tried to stop :P rear ABS doesn't work in 4WD

I was hoping to get some snow while I am out here but that doens't look possible

I have a 12" ruler standing on the glass tabletop on my deck. No drifting of snow yet and the ruler just disappeared from view at 3:45pm.

And a 2600' driveway to boot!

.....Gonna really be a workout this week for the new 2010 Outback, 'cause the polo is staying tucked in the garage!

The other reason for not taking the Polo out are the HID bulbs, See my post HERE

Same problem with all of the new energy-saving LED traffis lights. They don't get warm enough to melt snow and ice.

There's a 92 Claret SVX under there somewhere. So far we are at 18 inches of snow as of 3:30pm and it's still coming down.

I'm at about 10 inches now and my RE92's are telling me to stay at home cause they really didn't do so swell today

Mike: I use the snowblower about 2x per year.

as I have a decent size place to park and I have some on street parking that the boro likes to plow shut often. Oh the joys of town living.

John: they put heaters in some of the LED traffic lights b/c of that problem.

Didn't even think about trying to get out of the driveway today (Austin did go out with neighbors that have ATVs). Around 18-24 inches and it didn't stop snowing until around 5:00pm. Tomorrow should be a fun shoveling day (NOT!).

This morning (Saturday) I put the set of WinterHandlers (thanks Landsharkl)on Nick's 4.44 Ebony, replaced the LF balljoint and drove through 16" on MY ROAD

for two miles out to the VERY greasy highways to PGH. to pick up Nick for his first trip home since He joined the USAF!

It took me four hours up to our pickup point in Bridgeville, and four hours back on a trip that USUALLY takes two hours each way.

But both boys are home,
everybody alive,
saw a spectacular sport ute "offroading event"

A good day.

BTW it snowed another 6" since I left at 1:00 on Saturday so its like 18" now.

Thank God that winter is finally over!
