Ford Ranger

My dummy light goes on continously. It's the "door ajar" light. All the doors are closed but the light goes on when I make turns. The annoying part is the warning sound. I can not find any sensors on the door. Does anyone know how to bypass this?

Remove the speaker that makes the sound

The sensor is located right in the door lock mechanism in my ´95 ranger.

Hi DANNMARR, I think the door open warning is triggered by the light switch for that door. If it comes on when you make a turn I would look for the switch or wires being loose. Take care, BOBB

The switch is in the latch itself, you can try adjusting the striker inward slightly to hold the door shut tighter, if that doesn't work you may have to replace the latch mechanism, since IIRC from the Ranger I worked on that had that problem, you can't get the switch separately.

You could adjust it by buying my F-250 without a door ajar idiot bell.
