Something is not right in this ad...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subar...fCarsQ5fTrucks

It looks like it has a turbo, but it also has 2 carbs and is a straight 6...wow

Yeah, what's that connected to the air intake? Although not my taste, the Graphics do look nicely done.

Re: Something is not right in this ad...

Yes, something seemed strange when I read it earlier today. Somebody with a car like that should know it's 2 throttle bodies not carbs. Also the top speed seems outrageous no matter what modifications have been done. An extra 100mph requires huge amounts of extra power to attain.
As for the attachment on the intake, it looks like one of those bogus electric superchargers they sell on Ebay to unsuspecting smucks.

Re: Something is not right in this ad...

Thats the Forced Air Technologies turbo kit. "FAT" for short.

It doesn't use an intercooler so its only a 30-40hp gain at the most.

The seller is an idiot....

Actually, comparing the two. It doesn't look like the FAT kit. The turbo is bigger and the piping is alittle different. But still no intercooler on that car.

Dustin

Edit: Added a link to the FAT kit so people can see it.

Re: Something is not right in this ad...

I was thinking the FAT kit as well. Not a very good way to get lots of power out of an EG33. As for the 242 mph claim....maybe in KPH...that gauge does read to 260 after all. But 240 MPH? At 60 I'm turning ~2000 RPM. So 4 times that would be 240 @ ~8000 RPM. And aren't Euro-spec SVXii running 3.70 final drives? So you'd be turning even more RPM's at that speed. Uh huh....Short of a GPS confirmed run, I'm not believing that.

Oh, but I love the part about 242Mph. Lemme see....Ummmm I think that's actually past the RedLine, aint it?
I wouldn't mind seeing 3500Lbs going 242mph, but I wouldn't wanna be in it though.

I think he's thinking Kliks.

Re: Something is not right in this ad...

It's the red devices in front of the battery that are hooked up to the hair dryer that make it go 240

Re: Something is not right in this ad...

wow.. there are only a handful of production cars that will do 240 mph+. this guy shouldn't even try to sell a Geo metro, even though He'd say it had a P51 mustang engine in it.

I'm fairly sure a supercharged Merlin outweighs a Geo many times over. That would be fun though. Get yourself a 27L V-12, for good measure make it one out of a Reno racer, putting out upwards of 3000 HP...
