Re: Anyone use a car cover?

If your only gonna use it for the weekends, wash it yourself before u leave im sure u go out, so make it look nice. If u dont have a garage ure cover can be stolen. I live in Brooklyn NewYork so security is a must, and thiers a lof of street birds and polution, car gets dirty quick, i dont drive it much, but i always clean it myself, bucket with water and soap, and soft towels. Armor all, Windex, 3M Car Wash Soap is very good and 3M Wheel and Tire Cleaner .

here are some links on how-to on ure car that might help.

Re: Anyone use a car cover?

FYI, the factory svx cover is crap! I've bought two now and neither have lasted more than a winter. What happens is ice forms on the cover and if you try to remove then it will actually tear the cover. I haven't been impressed with their quality. I intend to get one, however, one of much higher quality...

dont get one of the $50 ones from ebay. It only lasted until birds landed on the roof. It didnt hold up to dead leaves either. ripped to shreds.

Re: Anyone use a car cover?

I just purchased a new Custom cover for mine.. Has not arrived yet, but it looks like high quality.. I paid almost 200.00 for it but it is worth it if it protects the car.

the website is: www.carcoversdirect.com.

I also purchased wheel covers for the wheels as I am sure the car cover will not cover to the ground and since I replace the original wheels with chrome, I want to make sure they stay protected through the winter. Can't remember the web site I got those through.

I can vouch personally for the Technalon Evolution fabric covers shown in that ad link. I've used the cover in driving sun parked at work in Sacramento, and in heavy rain. The cover protected the finish, and as long as I put it on a clean car (using a Ca Duster if possible) it showed no damage to the finish. I couldn't comment however on performance in Northern states winter environment. As far as I can tell, you pretty much get what you are willing to pay for in car cover performance.
