Exclamation left front / drivers front control arm & etc for 92 svx lsl awd

As you may have seen from my accident story I'll need the control arm and maybe some other nearby parts. Is anyone parting out a car and has these for sale? I'll need to get them as soon as possible to be on the road.

I also need an OEM rim or 4 am rims...which means I might sell my remaining three oem rims depending on the deal.

Which side is the Control Arm for?

Is the wheel needed a left or right? The "lefts" have an "L" molded next to the valve stem.

I can help you with both items depending on the sides.

Excellent. I'm in upstate NY so shipping shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'll send you a PM once I find out each and every necessary part.

okay folks...
here's what I need:

ON THE LEFT SIDE:
driver's side strut
driver's side spindle
driver's side control arm

left front and rear rims.

four new tires.

power steering hose (probably) or cooler (less likely)

rear rotors and pads.

So... what can I do and what is this going to cost me? My guy says parts and labor on the front are probably going to take about $7-800. not counting the other stuff.

I need help because we are quickly approaching my spending limit.

Please don't take this wrong.
Is this a mechanic you know and trust?
Ask him how much for labor, if you provide good used parts.

Your question is totally valid. I definitely trust him. He's reputable within the community and many of my close friends go to him for their problems -- my friend Mike has a 1986 BMW Diesel conversion (that's the veggie oil tank) and goes to him all the time. He's also knowledgeable when it comes to the SVX because he has one. Do you think what he has estimated is very high for what has been described?

Labor should be in the $300-400 range.

Honestly, this isn't a HUGE job. The struts are the only parts that require special tools. You can do this yourself, if you're handy. I'm an industrial mechanic, so I have lots of tools, I could do it in a weekend. You, not being a mechanic, could do it over 3-4 evenings. There's a great online service manual here.

I will definitely consider your information. I am also going to call around and try to get another opinion. if I can do it myself I will, but I have limited tools available.

For 300-400 dollars you can buy a few tools (please get a long break over bar)
and rent the spring compressor of you need to do a strut. You will even get $300-$400 worth of valuable experience while doing the work and the priceless pride of accomplishment!
Anyone can do it on a weekend with proper tools, which you will now have!
Good luck,
Keith
