Smile preping for the road trip...

As we get closer to the the 10th Anniversary Meet, I want to have my car as good as I can get it (and funds permit) for the big road trip...

I picked up my car yesterday from my independant Subaru shop in Denver, after having the following done:

---replaced both front and rear struts. The old ones (the originals )were shot; leaking bad, no rebound at all.

---replaced the steering rack with a new rebuilt; seal was bad, and leaking fluid (more than a drop)...the rubber boots were full..

---replaced tie rods

---replaced ball joint

---4 wheel alignment done...

---recently did rear wheel bearings, and valve cover gaskets...

I'm about 2k lighter, but what a vast improvement. The car handles like new; no more "bump noises" or shimmy, all is nice and tight. The owner of the shop took my car home one night, and now he wants an SVX!

now if I could just get the damn visors to quit drooping...

All that work is worth the improvement
With all that was needing to be fixed, I wonder if you feel the way I do. "Oh darn. It's time to get out of the car." Then I start thinking how many hours before I go home or how long before I go to work again and get to drive the SVX. What a great feeling. The car just glides so smoothly down the highway

too much in it to bail out! besides...

I just love fine machinery! Like any used car, when I bought the Pearlie LSL, I knew I was going to have to spend some bucks to get it up to "my standards". I monitored this site when I was looking (really wanted a pearl...), and I knew what to expect! Part of the the SVX fun is getting it as near perfect as possible, and when its done you have something that is not only very unique, but only a select few have.

It does "glide" down the highway, and it loves the Colorado twisties too!
