Tested the new DMS Struts yesterday

After I left the rest of the guys yesterday to drive home I had a guy in his new flash holden (GMH) car tail gating me on the straights as I didn't want to speed. Then came the climb over the mountain and as hard as he tried he just couldn't keep up with me. I would tease him by slowing, making him feel that he was catching up then I would just leave him behind. In the end he nearly lost it on one of the corners and decided he wasn't going to die trying to keep up.
This the first time I have pushed the car since fitting the DMS, the corners were signed at 25 and 30 k speeds and the SVX was corner with tyres screeming but the car never swayed at all some times doubling the suggested speed. The breaks never missed a beat as well and showed no sign of fading. Considering I run Light truck tyre and the other guys had high performace low profiles my old girl did well.

if it looks like a racing story, sounds like a racing story, and smells like a racing story...

Then it must be a racing story...

Assuming it is illegal to speed in Griffith, I'm guessing it's farms and dingos

It wasn't speeding as the curve speeds are only recomended and the road limit as stupid as it sound was 100 kph.

lets call it defensive driving !!

the road is clearly twisty and as such, unsafe to pass on
so, it was the most prudent course of action to ensure the tail-gater(an obviously poor driver) didnt make a fatal error in judgement!!

also, it would be unsafe to pull-off on such a narrow twisty road to allow the poor driver to pass-by

just think....you saved his life !!!

Street Racing.

Nah, there are no streets out there. And the other car was a Holden Commonbore, so there was no racing.

Struts

I have the Koni GC setup. While I don't think it is nearly as good as your setup, it truely transfors the SVX into a great handling vehicle. I am very anxious to take my car to a track, lowered with struts firmly adjusted to see just how good it will do in the twisties.

Bottom line the SVX needs aftermarket struts to make it perform outstandingly.

Harvey its amazing how different the DMS make the car. When I am drive on some of those back roads that would noramlly shake your teeth out of your head it doesn't bother me at all. The car suspension only moves when it needs to, last run they never bottomed out at all and I think the fact they are double acting means that they don't follow the same vibration rates of a normal car.
I am going to have to shorten the link arm on the front stabilers to strut. Due to the fact that I have the car so high the arms on the stabilizer bar are hitting the drive axle when one wheel in full up and the other is full down which on the type of rad I am travelling on happens a bit.
I was going to cut 20 mm out do you think they will be strong enough?
Tony

How much were those DMS struts? I see they have distributors in North America. I think you had a pic in an early post which I can't find at the moment.

Have a look at the SVX Rally car it has the details on the DMS and there is a guy in your part of the world trying to get a group buy. Matt and mine were built for off road work so they are a bit more then what you will pay.
