I ran a MS-I on my previously owned '86 XT-Turbo.
Of course, that car was primitive compared with the SVX. I used the stock distributor (never got around to the EDIS setup) and the radiator fans were temperature controlled at the radiator. I think the only connections were to the injectors, the Air intake temp sensor, water temp sensor, and the O2 sensor, which I only used for monitoring, and a tach signal. Piece of cake. But for that car, it was fine. Tuning the maps isn't too hard, and the car will run even if you have the map a ways off, so it is pretty easy to get it going initially, then dial it in correctly. That car ran much better on the MS then it did on the factory ECU for sure. If I was to do the SVX, I'd definately go with the MS-II, figure out the ignition to use the SVX sensors, and to run all the extra goodies the SVX has, heck you could probably get the IRIS to work even with the MS-II and a little work. Have fun!
