Transmission/Rear End/Steering
Hi Guys! I really need help. I just had the transmission rebuilt on my 94 LSI and picked it up today. When I start the car, the power light blinks 16 times and then goes out. When I turn the steering wheel either way toward the end, I get clunking in the rear and a feel like the wheels are locking up. Is this related to the transmission install or maybe something to do with bearings or axles? Everything was fine before the transmission rebuild and I just recently had new rear wheel bearings installed. Has anyone had this type of experience or know what is might be. I am almost afraid to drive it. PLEASE provide any and all ideas. Thanks.

Should I check just the transmission codes or some others as well? What does TCU stand for?

Unless any warning lights are on besides the flashing power you don't have to check any other codes.
TCU = Transmission Control Unit

OK...I performed the test and got code 24....Duty Solenoid C
What does it mean??

Do I have to replace the Duty Solenoid C only or both the solenoid and the trandfer plate. Should the transmission shop who just put in the transmission shop do this free (labor) because they missed it when doing the trans?

Looks like the solenoid is malfunctioning. It's either returning an invalid signal or no signal at all (unplugged?).
I would mention it to the place that rebuilt the tranny and mention that it was defective right from start. Also mention the code and details of the code.

Thanks Earthworm. You have been a phenomenal help...that's why this is such a great site. They are going to order a new solenoid and install it. I doubt if I will have to pay for the labor, but they might charge me for the part. We'll see.
