brake band tightening

Can any one tell me how to tighten, and find the brake band that causes the tranny to slip from time to time, properly. Can I do it myself of should I have it professionally done.

Never mind I found it in previous posts. But one other question, I have just had my tranny rebuilt not to long ago abou 7,000 miles ago. Is the brake band the reason that it still slips in 2-3 gear chage, or should that have been fixed with the rebuild.

I'm having tranny troubles of my own right now. I'm not much good at diagnosis, but you might want to do a search using TPS and flare

They should have fitted a new band when they did the job. May be they did not tighten it right, and it has bedded in to now, be a bit loose. It is not a big job to adjust, and worth a try, before doing any thing else.
