Old Friends

I've been kinda searching through the ol' membership list and noticed a few people who've just dropped off the face o' the earth. I e-mailed Jscorse -- he's doing fine, he's just super busy and stuff. I haven't heard from SVXjazz for some time and don't have his e-mail addy. There are many others, and those who allow me to send e-mail from their profiles will get e-mails. Those of you who know some of our absentees, drop them a note and let them know they're missed . . . yes, even eddy.

Did Lester 37 just sell his SVX's or am I confusing him with someone else?

Hey Randy, thanks for the shout. Sorry I don't check in so much anymore. I still swing on by and read most of the posts. My briefcase still has quite a bit of stuff in it. I don't think I've deleted any SVX items, so everyone is welcome to peruse. I suppose without an SVX to actually get hands-on with, and no shop manuals (went with the car), I'm afraid I won't be much help to anybody. I will still make it to the 10th Anniversary Meet, however. And even though I don't chime in too much, I keep an eye on the other meets, in case I decide to drop by.

I've always wondered what happened to Frank Bartl as well. I've had e-mail correspondence with SVX Jazz within the last 6 months or so. I'm not sure I've got it anymore, though, since the computer crashed. He was just real busy with life. New family, new house, busy with the youth group at church.

Frank Bartl just disappeared. Larry's been trying to call his office and everything -- POOF!. SJLWEL still hangs at Yahoo -- you should see him there occasionally. I can't find alanscouse, though, I see him on the network occasionally. I forget to PM him. He'll probably make Reading III though. Yep, Lester (Marc and Kyra) sold their SVXes and have a new baby. Alfaru moved from Philly to somewhere else ---- sheesh -- dunno what happened to the rest.

Wink

How about Jester, the original Yahoo guy, & Ms. Speed Nut?
I know they both reluctantly sold their babys, but you could always sense they'd climb back on board if the money tree bloomed.
Ron.

Randy,

Don't forget Don Dinaro (Dondi) and Vin Scimone. Blonde-Man & Alex (organizer of Liberty State Park Meet) seem to have left too.
Preston doesn't post much anymore and neither does Shotsky.

I feel like the "old man" on the yahoo site with all the new youngins'.

I have tried many, many times to get in touch with Frank (TOYO PROXES) to no avail. All his phones, e-mails, and faxes seem to be disconnected.

FRANK, IF YOU ARE OUT THERE LISTENING; CONTACT ME !!

Yeah, what happened to Shotsky? He had two 93's, and was very active and had a lot of good info.

I hate to be morbid, but I've often thought that if I passed away, my poor wife would have no clue how to notify anybody on these boards, unless someone called my house directly. She wouldn't ever get the e-mail, and she wouldn't think or know to get on the boards to post a message.

Is Joeaux from Florida still around? Maybe he is, and I've just missed it. (Keep it stock, man!!)

Most of those I wonder about have been mentioned. The only one not mentioned was Wes. Don't ask me to spell his handle - I have it written down somewhere...it's really weird.

Shotsky is alive and well over on the Yahoo Global Warming site...and contributing some heavy input to that group. I click on just to get a rough idea of what is going on...heavens, you'd think I was on MIT's chatroom! I feel like I need a PhD just to follow the vocabulary! I assume he still has his SVX...he's probably just real busy.

Rich,
You know I have had the same thought! Jean wouldn't have a clue at this moment, of how to post on this site...I've got to get a little notebook together...

Ron.
I keep in touch with Maria, but, I don't think she's interested in becoming involved in an SVX forum any more. It just prolongs the agony of separating with her SVX. Harry and I have been trying to talk her into attending some meets though.

I didn't know that Jester had sold his car. I knew that it was "languishing" in the parking lot of a dealership somewhere. Hate to hear it about jester.

Yeah, Don has been very absent. I remember him as the one who took a good "flaming" on the Yahoo club but wound up at Reading I anyway. Vin Scimone seemed to drop off after he delivered the Japanese Emblems and changed apartments. Oh well. Blondeman got pissed off at the Yahoo club for coming down on him for his "Epic" posts --- the same happened here. Haven't seen him in a long time. I don't remember Alex.

And, yes, you are the "old man" of the Yahoo club.

tut ankh pokki. Yeah, Wes popped in after the VT meet and then, just disappeared. He was a funny guy. His comment was one of the highlights of the VT meet for me. I was walking behind Wes in downtown Burlington. I sniffed the air and turned to Shari and said, "I smell Chinese!" Wes dryly turned around and said, "I'm Korean." I almost wet my pants laughing.
