Reducing weight

There have been many posts on the subject of sigificantly reducing the weight of an SVX.

At last someone has come up with the solution

I thought your joke was that the bidding started at 250 'pounds,' but then I saw the description.

Looks like it, but the airline might not like you having a sharp object in your luggage.

Its too big for carry-on and the over-weigth fee would bankrupt most people

actually, i dare not use my wit and tounge with the heavily armed security personel that oversee the airports, but i will say that i was successful in boarding a plane with a knife and pair of pointy scissors. shocking isn't it?

And they took away my P-38.

Never mind I had a set of Cross chrome pens and the stylus to my PDA.

I was able to get a Subaru tranny mainshaft (solid metal, 2.5 ft long) as carry-on on my international flight. Three different groups of inspectors looked at it, and all said it was ok to carry on the flight. I think they were too distracted by the center diff in my bag. :-)))

cary on

On our fl trip, Dave carried Mr. Hoots, a softball sized brass owl that will someday rule the world. The inspectors looked at it kind of funny, but let him pass.

I was returning from Kenya with a wood carving of 2 lions, they Xrayed that thing, drilled me on what it was, and almost took it away, I'd have rather stayed in New York than let them take it! No one cared in Europe or Kenya, but in the USA a 1 1/2 inch blade pocket knife is a lethal weapon, shoes must be inspected just in case they might blow up, and a 12" kniting needle is harmless, go figure
