Is it bad to hear a chirp from the front tires?
Just recently on a couple fast pull aways I have heard a slight chirp from the front tires, maybe I am driving it a little harder, but I am not really used to hearing it. It surprised me in fact. Could my AWD failing me or is it somewhat normal?
I also noticed that the air pressure in the tires was wrong, the fronts were 29 and rears were 33. I guess I need to check that after tire rotations. Could that have anything to do with it?

If the AWD is working OK ,you should not get any front wheel spin. Try it on grass, if it will spin the front wheels, the clutch is not working.
The TCU should always anticipate any drive load, based on throttle, gear, and speed, to apply the transfer clutch to prevent it. Harvey.

All right I'll give that a try and report back. -First I need to keep an eye out for a suitable place to do that as I don't find myself driving on grass much.

ur tranny's canned, lol hate to say it same thing happened to me.
i think the center diff failed so most power to the front. then 4th gear went and now 3rd gear went. its fun spinning front wheels until the back ones finally get power. sorry to say.

I'm thinking the transfer clutches are on their way out, or already sheared off, especially if you are not throwing a transmission code.
