ABS Light is On
Ugh.. well I replaced my right-front CV axle and to do so, Chilton's erroneously (sp?) told me that I needed to disconnect the ABS sensor. In doing so, I must have somehow damaged it, because now my ABS light comes on for no apparent reason and stays that way until I turn the car off and back on again.
I have a couple of theories as to why this is happening. One is that I simply bashed the hell out of the unit in trying to get it out. The other is that somehow the unit relies on a magnetic field to operate, and putting anti-sieze on it somehow messed it up. Anyway, the most obvious solution is to replace the unit, so I'm wondering where I can get one cheap. Is anyone parting out a car and has a spare one kicking around? Are they the same on all four corners? TIA- -Adam |

did you try maybe disco-ing the battery to see if it would reset? free to try, other than having to reset clock and radio stations.

They're not the same on all 4 corners.
Check the blinky light underneath the passenger seat next to the right side rail. It's hidden by a flap of carpet. That'll tell you what the system thinks it's wrong. Me guess is either the position of the sensor is too far away from the tone wheel, or too close to the point where the tone wheel has now bent the sensor. G'Luck. VK |
