Re: My silver car is toast....

Whats so odd, is that here I am over in Worcester (downtown), I had to travel to Cambridge (the afternoon of the storm), and my entire ride was completely uneventful. All I got to see was a few icicles on the street sign in front of my window.

I would think the best course of action would be to get home owners to cover it. Go buy another SVX, and start ripping parts. Hey, this time around, you won't make any of the mistakes you made the first time, customizing, and it will be exactly as you like it.

In any case, I genuienly feel really bad, and hope you come out on top in this.

James

That'd be sweet. Let me know, you can stay here.

My roomates have some sick cars... I'll have to take you out drifting in the one's 400HP RX-8.

Wish I had the money, I want to prep the SVX for drift. Maybe by then...

I really do not see how home owners insurance is going to give me anything...

Re: My silver car is toast....

homeowners might, because the damage was caused by trees, ie.. homeowners insurance might cover any damage caused by trees on property.

Actually, this will not be the case. The damage was caused by weather; not trees.

Usually, homeowner's insurance has an exclusion for vehicles. Your only real bet is auto (I'm assuming you don't have comprehensive, so you're kinda SOL). Check your H/O policy, but I wouldn't be too hopeful. Better yet, call your provider. They'll let you know straightaway if you have coverage or not.

Add comp to your auto policy if you don't have it already. It's usually cheap, and it gives you some protection against weather, theft, and vandalism.

Lame. Next time, keep just comp with no liability; it's usually dirt cheap to do.

Sorry about the SVX. I'm sure you'll get her back up and about, but it still sucks to have to deal with.

That's my first thought also... as I didn't see any buildings or houses around it. I was like, why was it all the way out there... now only realizing it wasn't that far over.

sucks. good luck with getting it back together.. seems like there are plenty of people here more than willing to lend a helping hand!
