A sighting/meeting of the SVX kind

Hey

When I picked up my car from the Automatic Transmission specialist in Newcastle, I ran into a fellow 'Newcastle' owner who is NOT on the forum!

His name is Vlad. His transmission was totally shot and the passenger window (fixed) was broken. See photos:

No, Tony, not yet!

The PWR one is looking attractive - all aluminium and such... It is getting some good reviews on here too.

I am in Townsville this weekend, but hope to have time to sort it out next week.

Mike

Re: A sighting/meeting of the SVX kind

Mike I have 2 PWR one and I would never buy one again, the fans don't fit properly and they can cut a whole in it if they are not right. But that's my 2 bob's worth.
Here is a different place to get the radiator and its cheaper then the PWR.

May be you could drop in on your way home. PRW are in Ormeau, South east Queensland.

Re: A sighting/meeting of the SVX kind

Hey Hey

I drove right by where PWR are, but had no time to visit (plus it was Sunday).

I trust Tony's opinion but need to ask, if the PWR's he installed were the "improved" models I have read about here on the forum???? I have read that the early ones fit very poorly, but the 2008 models are better.

Otherwise, the one on SVX Warehouse looks decent and is a fair price, Tony.

Just want to get a definitive answer. Buying Australian would be a bonus, though.

Indeed he was, so there was another meeting of the SVX kind. Met Mike and had a blast at his concert, where he managed to toss in a reference to "not having a radiator" in the onstage band banter before "Drive My Car". If anyone else gets the chance, definitely take up his offer of tickets - the band are great and amazingly true to the Beatles sound.

It was brilliant to get to meet an SVX'er and be able to happily babble away about them for hours with someone else as keen and I picked up a few tidbits about my girl I hadn't learnt yet. Interesting, too, to have someone else's opinion on how she drives.

I didn't get a signed T-shirt, but I did get a signed bar coaster, complete with a sketch of Brady standing through the sunroof holding a PWR radiator above his head.

Added bonus - an unforgettable SVX moment - 4 people in the back seat....

Thanks Mike!

Tania.

p.s. there's a reason Mike's user title is 'SVX Pilot'; preferred mode of acceleration = afterburner
