It won't budge. The plastic is starting to get pretty mangled up from plyers and what not. I'll soon need a new part if I keep doing what I'm doing. What should I do?
Thanks

Remove the battery so you can get to it better, even unbolt it. It shouldn't be that hard to get to the release tabs on the plug. Why are you messin' wit it? B.

and I've only seen one release tap on the side toward the fender. when i push it in, it still does nothing. Anyway, Do I remove the postive or negative first. I know this is a stupid question but the reason I don't know is because I've been told something different everytime I've asked it.

When taking off battery cables, always take off the negative first.
If you take off the positive first, you can accidentally hit a ground with the wrench, which is not good.

no need to remove the positive or negative first. Try what that guy said in the general discussion forum and unbold the resistor for better access.

Thanks alot for your help. I don't know what I would do without this forum. I was getting a littled frustrated there.
Anyway, I didn't notice the 1-2 shifting abnormality (I was having before) after disconnecting the resistor, which from what I've heard, indicates the resistor's going bad. So I'll probably leave it disconnected. It was surprising at how hard the shifts were afterwards though. I hope it doesn't cause long-term damage.

the only times i notice any hard shifting on mine is when the car is cold, I just try to take it easy on the gas during these periods.
