The engineers actually work in the plant. According to Chia, Mr. Nagano had the last minute idea to see if there were any of the people who'd worked on the SVX, in the plant. After a quick search, they found the two who were there and asked them to join the festivities. WHAT A TREAT!!!! If you look back at previous posts, you'll see that I'd posted (somewhere in the past 18 months) that it'd be neat if some of the engineers would be in attendance. Little did I know that it would happen. My head is still reeling, processing all the happenings. It suddenly seems like I awoke this morning from a dream . . . a very GOOD dream from which I didn't want to awaken.

Engineers??

What engineers?? I thought the tranny was designed by committee?

If them nice chaps from Fuji were in attendance, I do hope you gave them an earful about inadequate transmissions and the like.

Also, I hope you told them a Legacy tranny is not a good fit either!

You will have to fill us all in about what went down with the guys from Fuji. I expect they were well pleased to see such a devoted number of fans[nuts?] still loyal to their abandoned top of the range baby. Come on, don't keep us all in suspense.

Joe

His last name was Harada. I have his complete name (I believe the first name is Masayoshi)in the body styling section of one of my SVX brochures (Silver cover with teal logo/lettering)

He showed me why that little rubber triangle at the base of the door window was shaped the way it was and a couple of other interesting tidbits.

But I will never forget this statement he said to me, while standing next to my car, and I quote him EXACTLY:

"From SVX beginning, the white mica alway my favorite"

PS: Mr. Harada doesn't own a flame-retardant suit, guys

That is seriously cool, Never.

I think perhaps the enthusiasm you guys have in abundance may well shape future thought in the Subaru empire. Cars take 2-6 years from drawing board to market, but there are always a few designs doing the rounds, building on past success or promise, waiting on the corporate nod.

My money says that a new coupe is a lot nearer this week than it has ever been. And I am not talking about a 2 door Impreza, unless they stick a flat six in a variant!!!

Well done!

Joe

And well done SIA, excellent hosts, take a bow.
