Cupholder

Like most of us, I have been on the trail of the PERFECT cupholder. Up to now, Ron's and Larry's have been the best I have seen, but nothing I was able to find on my outings. When I was up in Indy over Thanksgiving, I was wandering through a Target automotive department. On a shelf all by itself....not another like it anywhere...was this weird piece of black plastic labeled as a "cupholder". I picked it up...eyed it from several angles...fondled it with careful attention to the possibilities...and then I noticed the price..$4.95....oh what the heck, I've wasted larger amounts on junk that doesn't work. I took it out to SuperRu and slid it into place.....and batted my eyelids with amazement. It WORKS!

On top, it is two cupholders separated by a small box-shaped holder. The body continues down as a thin wedge that slides between the seat and the console. It has two outward bulges at the bottom that form a tight grip with the seat near the floor. It works over on the passenger side even better....more clearance from the wheel, and Jean said it didn't bother her at all. Easy and instinctive reach from either side of the console. Best darn $5 I think I ever spent. There was no brand name on the cardboard, so all I can tell you is that it came from Target. Don

Picture?

Do you have a picture of said wonder item? If so I'll look at my Target here and see if we have them.

Thanks.

I have 2 versions of cup holder.

version1: It's installed in my car. I will post some pics tomorrow.

version2: Whoever that is sitting in the passenger seat holds my cups.

Yep, I was gonna ask for pics. There is a rather large Chez Tar-shez here. I will spare all of you the pics of my cup holder, since it usually ends up being my crotch (thank goodness for insulated mugs).

Imagine a tray with a flat wedge dropping off one side...

<Did you say BOX shaped?> There is a small box-shaped holder between the two cup holders....I'm not sure what it is for; pack of ciggies, juice box, cell phone etc. Sory, I have no digital camera to show a picture...

Unhappy

So I ran off to Target today, & found nothing that resembled your description. Sob! Then, on the way out I spotted a '92 pearlie parked at a local bank. I went inside demanding to meet the owner. It belonged to a young guy named Andy who's a teller. He's had it for three years, & has visited the NET, but not yet signed in. I again DEMANDED that he come to Reading in April. Let's see what happens.
Ron.
