Power Steering problems.
So as the title says my power steering has been acting funny. I just got this car 3 weeks ago and it has been a blast. The reason I say it has been acting funny is that it works fine as long as RPM are above ~890 but when lower/idling it completely shuts off. I checked the power steering reservoir and it's not leaking or anything like that. Is something clogged up somewhere or is it just my power steering pump starting to go.

Welcome to the site. Check the How-To Documents and it will explain how to do the O-ring fix. If you do this, I bet your problem will be fixed. It sometimes sucks air and will not leak, and give that symptom. If that doesn't work, post again and we can try to figure out what is wrong. Good luck.

Thank you for the welcome. You have no idea how happy I am to be a part of this small community.
Now as for the O-ring fix, that’s the first thing I tried as I been searching and reading through these boards for a few weeks now. And when I checked the old ring, it wasn't in that bad of a shape but just to make sure I put another slightly larger ring on the outside of that, so there's two rings now. So I don't think thats the problem. And the only other observation that I made is that when I have no PS a struggling (electric ) motor noise comes from the engine bay as I force it to steer.

Is the power steering belt tight enough?

It felt tight to the touch, and didn't look like it was slipping. But just in case I’ll prob. change them tomorrow, both belts look a bit worn.

Guard, I don't mean to be a thread digger, but did you resolve this issue? I have the same problem with mine right now, but haven't tried replacing the o-ring yet. I may as well check everything possible if you found your cure. Thanks!

I tried the O-ring thing, put in a new belt, there is no leaking from anywhere but no luck yeat :/ . Next thing I’m gona try to do is swap in a new pump. Probably in the next week or so I will call up that excalibur girl see if she still has the pump. I'll let you know as soon as I do this......
