a/c condenser replacement

well my a/c condenser has holes in it,
can i rig one from another subaru?

Sadly Silla has no more of those either. I bought a nice used one off Ebay from a guy in Texas for 50 bucks.

Rigging one could be tricky. You'd have to check the size specs from other models to get something close and then see if the connections are compatible.

If you made the hole, not corrosion, it can be welded. I slipped pulling a pulley once and poked a hole in mine. A radiator shop was able to weld it and get me back on the road while I waited.

I've been trying to find a new one on the after market for a year. There is a firm which I found that said they had 5 but I couldn't buy direct and none of their dealers ever got back to me. Then winter came...

Subaru Canada has them for close to $800

I think that's a heater core not a condenser.

Does your research stop at 95? I noticed that the svx for 96-97 isn't listed I would assume they use the same condenser.

I would think so. The Subie part no. is above. Take those other than SVX models with a grain of salt.

Well Autoparts way finally advised me that they can't get the condenser.

Mine is doesn't leak but is contaminated according to the co. that rebuilt my compressor. I really don't want a 2nd hand unit and risk it being contaminated too.

Any one have any sources for new other than OEM? Subaru Canada wants close to $800.00 for one.

Warm weather is fast approaching.

or just brake clean and an air hose.contaminated doesn't mean ruined. it just needs to be cleaned. radiator shops offer this as a service.
