Re: SVX in Latest Issue of Hemmings Sports & Exotic Cars Magazine

It seems that every day I come to this site, there are new members joining who are simply not qualified (financially or otherwise) to properly care for their SVX.

The reality is that the value of our cars has bottomed out, and any idiot can afford to purchase one with little regard for its maintenance requirements. They're driving them until they break, then they log on here to complain about how unreliable a car it is.

It is a true shame that some of the "enthusiast" owners on this website allow their cars to deteriorate the way that they do.

I pledge to continually preserve, maintain, and even improve mine.

I will have to agree with you. I have always tried to get mine restored or keep them at the high.

Recently I was pondering my vehicular situation and I owned-up to a colleague that honestly, my automobile budget is in the $99 down, $99 per month bracket. Keeping an old car on the road in any semblance of "collectible" condition is really a pursuit I can't afford. But I just keep driving 'em.

Some of mine get neglected from time to time with all the project SVXi I have, but I figure it's better to keep more on the road that might otherwise be junked/parted than worry about my own that I know are safe. In the end, they get fixed eventually, just takes awhile.

Re: SVX in Latest Issue of Hemmings Sports & Exotic Cars Magazine

If I'm not mistaken, and I could be, I believe Hemmings did this same article/list a couple of years ago but it was a "top 25" list and both the SVX and XT6 made it.

To paraphrase the interwebz, "Double Alcyone!! What does it meeeeean?!"
