6K will get a great-low mileage SVX... not one with 165,000 on it.

Wow- I'm in SLC-- wish I hadn't just spent $500 on a beat-to-crap '92 parts car.

Re: Transmission Issue.... need advice

Mileage is high... but it's a great driver... never given me a bit of problems until this morning. If you would have asked me yesterday... I'd drive this car from UT to FL without thinking twice.

I'm really dreading the thought of putting a tranny in it.

But, I have a couple tips on some transmissions.... and worst case scenario.... it won't sell... I'll pick up a used tranny "somewhere" when it becomes convenient... and I'll probably just have Johnny install it.

Let's see what happens I suppose. It's costing me $15 in ebay seller fees to find out. I can deal with that I suppose.

"singing to the choir"... we all know the feeling. Even my 90 legacy with over 300,000 miles on it I kept it in good enough shape that I wouldn't have been reluctant to get in it and go across the country! 70-80 mph.

So sorry about your transmission.

Problem with transmissions, you don't know if a used one will get you out of your driveway after you go to the trouble to get it home and install it.

How many miles are on it, it certainly doesn't look like a high mileage car. It looks great in fact.

161k. The eBay auction should explain everything pretty well:

If there are any other questions, I'll be happy to answer them though.

Re: Transmission Issue.... need advice

LOL... sorry... missed it.

Yes, there is a small busted seam in the driver side upper exterior bolster (about 1.5 inches)... been that way since I bought it, and it hasn't spread. Lower bolster is fine Passenger seat is in excellent shape.

The seam on the center portion of the rear seats (up top) split a little too.... likely from the heat. about 1.5 inches as well.

dashboard is great... door panels are great.... center console is great.... carpets are kinda dirty, but not torn or ripped. Probably a few cheerios rolling around down there from my son during morning commutes... I'll do my best to clean it up though

It is a 16 year old car... and I would describe the interior as "fair"... it definitely shows signs of age.... but it is far from un-presentable.

I'm going to clean it up this afternoon, I'll post some pics of the interior later this evening.

Re: Transmission Issue.... need advice

I got my SVX with 172K miles on it. I still have it and still love more than any of my cars I've owned that had less than 50K miles on them. With a subaru 165K miles aint sh1t hell that cars got a lot more life to give

Re: Transmission Issue.... need advice

shiiiit gut those seats put a roll cage and some race seats in her and turbo that beast.... only parts that suck are so easy to fix it's not even funny. Rest of the car is in great shape! I'm seriously contemplating buying it and and swapping it for a daily while I build smokey... and get rid of my car payment...
definitely a good deal for whoever gets it. Sad to see your orders are changing matt hopefully we can meet up before you transfer.
