This RX-8 is on 265/35/18 Yokohama Advan Neovas, but these run wide as several 275 performance tires.

Chris,
Well, here's an SVX with 275/45-16s on it I'm going to see if I can't shoehorn in 295/35-17 Hoosier A6s as soon as I get the car back from AWD. -Bill

Bill, that's beginning to boarder on the "ridiculous looking" class of cars.

Driver's and Passenger's seats actually match. They're Corbeau (http://www.corbeau.com/) race seats that I had done over to match the leather interior. Not real comfortable for extended drives (right YT?), but they do the trick for autoX days. The Driver's seat has a 5 point harness, while the Passenger's seat still has the stock "automatic" seat belt (). -Bill

Yeah, the AWD boys have christened her "Battlescar" for the wheelwell mods (they will get cleaned up this year!). ESP is primarily populated by Camaros and Mustangs, and they're all running 275s and larger (315s, mostly). -Bill p.s. had a chance to see about getting that autoX movie running in the earlier post?

My Azenis came in, and the wheels should be here today. I dropped by Sears yesterday to make sure they actually got the size I ordered.
OMG those are wide tires. I really hope they fit.

They're big. I am able to turn the fronts at full lock without rubbing, but I'm not yet certain that they won't rub the tupperware up there under heavy braking. My wife was in the car, and she wasn't thrilled about the oversteer I put the car into. The rears rub. They hit the arches pretty easily, so I'm not sure I should use them yet. I don't want to damage the car. Eventually the car will be much stiffer. I'm not 100% certain what the parts will be. If I have to, I'll roll the arches. We have 235s on narrower 17s that we used last year on the Eclipse. We're going to try those out on the car tomorrow night. We certainly don't want to run another day on the Sumitomos; those overheated 30 seconds into each run at the test and tune. Pictures: http://picasaweb..com/nicholas.j.owens/RX8Tires

Well, I made the 275s fit finally. I rented a roller and rolled the arches in the rear. They still rub on a plastic liner that's on the inside of the bumper cover, but not for long. The tires will grind what they need to away.
I also threw in a picture of the camera mount I whipped up. I bought the remote camera and the handle from Harbor Freight. The ball head is from B&H. The whole thing cost me maybe $55. http://picasaweb..com/nicholas.j.owens/RX8Tires
