PCV Replacement

Husband actually owns the car and won't let any "mechanic" touch it. He does all repairs himself. Any suggestions as to how to "simply" replace the PCV valve?

The "simple" way is to get ahold of TomsSVX, he is a member here and has a garage in Philly where he works on SVX's.

The PCV on an SVX is not real difficult but it is in a very hard to get to spot. If you go to the "How To Documents" at the top of the page, then "Engine", Then "PVC Valve" (yeah, its spelled wrong) there is a decent write up on changing it...

Takes a special shaped wrench or a simple crow's foot with some tape...but you have to turn it right to loosen it, not the standard left.

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
Remove the alternator, and find someone with small hands/arms
Also bend a 19mm wrench to fit on it from the top.

It is a PITA, but is do-able....there may even be a write up with pics in the "How To" locker....

Thanks everyone - car has 170,000 miles and never had the PCV changed. Had oil spots here, there and everywhere. Husband is changing now. Again, thanks to all who replied.

Yeah the move to Dublin went okay...I at least got a small garage to house the SVX...

The valve is under the black metal cover on the intake manifold...take your H-6 throttle body cover off too.

Check out my locker for some photos and measurements on a special tool I made for replacing the PCV valve.
