Anyone interested in a 24 hour Autocross this weekend??

That's right guys 24 hours of Autocrossing... Day and Night... Starting at 12noon on Saturday and ending 12 noon on Sunday... I'll be there in my SVX and also driving a Honda S2000

Details...

Location: Charlotte, NC

When: Sept 2nd and 3rd (12noon - 12noon)

Cost: $40 - 12 hours... $60 - 24 hours

I'll reply...I can't go that far this weekend. If I do autoX it will be at Fedex stadium with the wdcr.

Hey Chike, what size tires did you run on your RX-7 wheels when you had your SVX?... Did you notice any diffrence in feel betweek the RX-7 wheels and stockers??

Real men wear 275s on stock rims. They actually fit and function very well provided you can roll your fenders enough. I'd definately be on at least 245s as they'll fit w/o a rubbing issue. 255/45s should also fit but you just might need a slight spacer (maybe 1/4 of an inch).

I only did two events with my SVX and never tried to be seriously competitive. I ran on 225/45/16 Dunlop SP Sport 8000's, but like Ben mentioned 245's can fit on there no prob with the RX-7 wheels.

245s, 255s and 275s all can fit on the stock wheel my friend. No need to go with a hideous FORD wheel.

I didn't think Ford owned Mazda back in '93 when the RX-7 was released in the US (IIRC).

I'm pretty sure they did. Remember the Mazda Cort? That was from then.

You're right...I forgot about that model. I guess Mazda and Ford shared some development costs and models back into the 80's. I think it was only within the last 5-10 years though that Ford has owned a controlling share of Mazda.

Just got confirmation from the wdcr that I'm off the waitlist and confirmed for the Fedex event on Sunday. Definitely can't attend the Charlotte event now...
