Has Anyone Tried...

The Disk Brake Kits available from SVXParts.com? The reason I ask is I may need to rebuild my front calipers, but in looking at the site I can't figure out what comes in the kits. The last time I changed my pads I noticed that the piston seals were torn, and now I'm also getting a grinding sound when I come to a stop. I figured this means it's time to rebuild the calipers, but before I dole out $165.00/side for these kits, I just wanted to check to see if anyone has bought them.

Also, if that's not the route to go, is there another (i.e. less expensive) way to rebuild the calipers?

The boot kit for the front is not $165...

I paid around $50CDN for the boots, OEM, for both sides.

If you need, I can try to dig up the part number to it. I've rebuilt one side so far, and have been too lazy to do the other.

It's a pain to get the piston out, and a super pain to get the boot back onto the piston. Patience is key.

YMMV.

Isaw the boot kit you spoke of and it does indeed cost $22.00, but I can't figure out if the reason the other kit costs so much more is because it includes all the parts of the caliper. Anyhoo, I'll try your route first and save myself a little dough... or redirect that dough to a set of cryo-treated rotors. Yes, yes, that sounds like a plan.
