I hear those police Bimmers have no top speed limiter and a few other 'add ons'! 300 km/h is a pretty fair estimate as to what that thing'll run to...

The pic does look kinda like a 'chop' job. However, I got it from a cop car website??? Either way, I do know for a fact that the Cali police use both M3's and M5's in the squad. Those things will chase down almost any car in a hurry!

Those E46 M3's are extremely well-built fast cars! My wife just loves them and would like to own an SMG version someday...

At the dragstrip, I've seen them run the 1/4 in 13.1 @ 105mph bone stock!

Your friend has good taste!

This is pretty bad ass too. A schoolmate of mine picked up a fox bodied Mustang (87-93) coupe that was used as a chase car. That car was so fast, probably the fastest fox in town. Well, until the engine blew. Anyway, a Saleen Mustang is pretty good too. This is not an SR, despite the wing on the back. I can't read the writing on the hood, but I am pretty sure it's an S281. I highly doubt the police would spend 60k on an S351. Instead, they might be wise to pick up a Corvette...

I wish my budget included having enough cash for a Mustang, Camaro, BMW, or Lambo chase car.

While we're on the subject of odd police cruisers, Maine definitely has more than a few. Waterville, the city right next to me, has an early '90's Buick Century that you would never know is a cruiser. Everything police-related in the car, lights, radios, etc... are completely hidden. You could walk right up to it, look inside, and you'd never know. The only reason I know is because I used to be a firefighter in Waterville. Also, during the late 80's, Augusta PD ran strictly Volvo sedans. I have an idea that it wasn't too awful hard to out-run those.

Those S60R's are sweet! My favorite Volvo of all time - 300hp, AWD and twin turbos!!! Plus that interior with the cool aluminum shifter look awesome!

They would be a tough car to beat on the Autostrada...

colorado state patrol uses almost crown vics and camaros exclusively. i do see a few jeep cherokees, though. our unmarked vehicles are getting harder to spot: tahoes/yukons, silverados/sierras, etc. i got pulled over my a ford f150 in april.
