2005 Outback

Saturday Rosie & I went down to Matt Slap Subaru in Newark, DE and test drove a 2005 Outback 3.0R VDC Sedan (that's what SOA named it). This is the 6 cyl. engine. They did not get in any wagons yet. The car was quite peppy and handled very well. I was impressed by the 5-speed auto tranny with sport shift. You can shift up or down by tapping the shifter. It works kind of like paddles on the steering wheel. The car is super quiet and the interior is scrumptious. Rosie loved the feel of the MOMO steering wheel. I think SOA is trying to build a 3-series BMW. I hope they don't have another sales fiasco like the SVX.
I want to drive the 3.0R VDC and turbocharged XT OB wagons.

Larry, word of advise. Don't buy anything from Matt Slap. That's the place that kept our Legacy for 2 weeks w/o calling to tell us they gashed the front leather with a knife. Then they said it was because the ordered a new cover (which they didn't). They simply gooped it up with leather fix.
