tranny stuff!!!!!!!!!!

hey all
im getting a used tranny put in my 92 svx, and i hear alot that you should get it converted to synthetic fluid and to put some kind of cooler on it. i also want to put a shift changer on it, or short ****fter or something like that. im wondering where i can find a tranny cooler or shift changer, (when i say shift changer im talking about something a guy at a transmission shop told me about that will help it change gears quicker and its better for the tranny). does anyone one know where i can find a good tranny cooler and shift changer for the svx.

Tranny shift changer

Automantic Transmission Exchange in Portland Oregon has what you are looking for.
Go to txchange.com
On their site they describe a shift that is not as smooth (more abrupt) as we're are used to with an A/T. They claim it is less wearing on the parts of the tranny that wear/fail from heat and friction. They push an additive called LUBEGARD, anyone use it? They also have tranny service manuals for $14. Give us feed back if you do it.

tranny cooler

The B&M 19,000 gvw tranny cooler seems to be a popular choice. I got mine from www.summitracing.com for 52 bucks or so. I think others have liked a perma-cool cooler because it comes with it's own dedicated cooling fan. I think summit has them too.

Tranny cooler size

I expect you've noticed there is not a lot of room to add stuff under the hood. The easiest space to put ATF coolers is between the radiator and a/c condensor, coolers for this spot can only be 3/4 inches thick. The available space is almost the size of the radiator. The down side to this location is the cooler is 75% effecient there. Look at Perma Cool & B&M web sites for specs.

I have sent off to these guys for a manual, to help with putting the '96 tranny into my '91 import.

Will let you all know what the manual is like when it arrives.
