Problem with power door locks

Hello,

Has anyone on the network here experience your power door locks siezing up. Yesterday, both my driver side and passenger side door locks would not work - the key would only turn halfway. I had to call a locksmith to get me in the vehicle. Once he got the door opened, the locks would not go up and pulling up on the door handle would not open the door - the locking mechanism was stuck. We took the passenger side door panel off and unplugged the unit. Now I can lock the door manually and the drivers door will also lock, but I don't know what to do next. I afraid to reattach the unit for fear it will lock up again. I also check the DR Lock fuse - is ok.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is actually one I haven't heard of here yet. I hope you find a solution.

Every once in a while it would be a good idea to remove the inner door panels and clean off the lock assembly. They should be able to move so freely that you shouldn't even be able to tell if you are unlocking the door or if it's already unlocked.

I forget what I used...perhaps some penetrating fluid and/or WD-40.
