HELP - 1996 Manual Conversion

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone done a 96 manual conversion, or at least dealt with 96 codes? Apparently I'm doing the first that small car knows of, and we are getting a check engine code(s) that we don't know how to deal with since they were obviously related to the automatic. It appears the 96 uses different codes than earlier models..I just need some guidance here. The code I have right now (according to tranny shop) is P1702TCM or some variant of that. Any guidance of resolution or reference to where I could research a resolution would be most appreciated.

P1702 is "TRS Circuit Intermittent Malfunction" if that helps anyone at all.
