If we can get some details, she can ask in German, and perhaps get a better answer, however I don't think language is the barrier.
Is there a part number?

head lights
Hi folks
My '92 SVX has plastic head lights. I never see and hear about any SVX in Switzerland who has glass headlights. Also no SVX driver from Germany, what I had mail contact with him, told me that. I never hear, that german cars must have glass head lights: All in Switzerland imported German cars have the factory original headlights. If they are from glass, they are here from glass. If they are plastic, they are here from plastic. But I go tomorrow so or so to Subaru Switzerland to get a part (color pencil), so I will ask if there exist any headlights from glass made for SVX. I will post then tomorrow the "result" Greetings Kusi |

Thx Kusi, if you can get a part number for Glass headlight assemblies, that would be helpful.

head ligths
Hi folks
I must take back my post from yesterday. Here is the answer from Subaru Germany: << Es stimmt , in Deutschland hatte der SVX Scheinwerfer mit einer Streuscheibe aus Glas. Inwieweit diese aber mit ihrem Fahrzeug kompatibel sind , kann ich ihnen leider nicht beantworten. Beziehen können sie diese Scheinwefer über jeden deutschen Subaruhändler. Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Eckhard Klenner SUBARU Deutschland GmbH Service / Homologation Department Tel. 0049 6031 606 177 Fax.0049 6031 606 172 Email: eckhard.klenner@subaru.de www.subaru.de Subaru - der meistgekaufte Allrad-PKW der Welt >> So, you understand this also, I think. But it is really so, that the headlights from SVX in Germany are made of glass. He don't can say if this headlights are compatibel with my SVX. They can be order through every Subaru dealer in Germany. I mail to him before again about the partnumber. I will go now go to Subaru Switzerland and ask there also, if they are made from glass. I let surprise me....... You will hear again from me! Greetings Kusi |

head lights
Hi folks
I became answer from Subaru Germany and I was also to Subaru Switzerland because of the headlights. The headquarter, parts stock etc. is only 15 driving minutes away from my hometown. I take everything back what I say. I never learn out German and Swiss SVX have exact the same headlights made of glass. I didn't know that, because it's very difficult to see. Parts number are exactly the same from Germany and Switzerland: Right: 84001PA080 Left: 84001PA090 Price: Swiss Fr. 750.-- each = SFr. 1'500.-- complete (about US$ 1'030.--) left and right. With this partnumber it is possible to order them via dealer direct from Japan. Attention!!! Mr. Klenner from Subaru Germany wrote me that the mounting of this headlights could be a problem in USA SVX models!! Kusi |

I think you may have misunderstood his comments Randy
German cars are LHD like us in the states. Therefore, the pattern should be the same. I think the problem may lie in mounting or the housing being different. Just an assumption at this point though.
Thanks Kusi for you help. It is very much appreciated!!! Todd

Kusi,
Do those part numbers include the electric levelers? If not, could you get those part numbers too? Randy, All Headlights use the same lenses and rear housing. There are left/right and up/down adjustments for the low, high and fog (if so equipped) so they can be tuned to the necessary beam patterns. There should be no issues as far as mounting goes. The inside of the rear housing (the part that has the mounting tabs) has listings for JDM, USA, and EUR alignment settings, so the housings should be the same everywhere. Doug

So all us US guys would just need the lever to adjust the beam pattern and we'll be able to use the glass headlights?

Sort of. If you open it up, you can tell where the markings are located.

Dutch head lights
Guys,
just to warn you, my Dutch car (Continental, like the German and Swiss) has those glass lights and they too get un-clear. So only if you realy need new lights I would order them. SubaRoel |
